How We are Different

Although many firms will claim that they are different from the rest, we believe that Enlight Financial is truly a unicorn in the financial planning world. There is no other firm with our particular processes or culture.

Personal Attention :

Our initial “financial plan” for a client can take as long as a year, because each topic — taxes, investments, insurance, estate planning — can take hours, weeks, and some­times months to properly address. It's not really a plan, it's a financial process. For example, one of our processes during a tax review is to ask for the last three years of tax returns. With all the schedules and forms, they can some­times be hundreds of pages long! Regard­less, we will actually print out every page, go through the numbers with a highlighter, and bring a detailed list of errors or audit flags to the client's attention.

Unlimited Hours :

We treat our clients like peers and involve them in all decision making. Together, we analyze the pros . . .

As the author of several spirituality books, Preeti Shah as well as the Enlight team firmly believes in a “Do Unto Others” philos­ophy. We are not affiliated with any com­pany or product, and we receive no commis­sions from recommending one investment over another. Our investment accounts are fee based. We do not carry the license to sell variable annuities or other variable pro­ducts, though in rare cases, a client may request to obtain a term life or disability insurance policy through us, for which we transparently disclose all commissions. Other­wise we receive no referral fees or commissions from any of our partners; their services are simply offered as a way to deepen the expertise we bring to you.

If a client disagrees with a suggestion or wants to run it by “Uncle Joe” or perhaps have us debate an issue with their CPA, we are happy to do whatever it takes to make eve­ryone feel comfortable. There is no firm that knows everything, so keeping our­selves open to discussion means that we welcome new knowledge and growth.

We would prefer to charge clients reasonable fees and keep them for lifetime, rather than drum up constant unnecessary activity to justify excessive rates. Financial planning is a lifelong and detailed process. Realistically, most clients can't devote the intense hours needed to properly address all of their financial needs in a short period of time, and static financial plans quickly get outdated anyway.

Instead, we've seen that clients appreciate the luxury of spreading out their planning meetings so we can do a proper deep-dive on each topic and make regular updates based on new life events. To that end, we keep overhead low with the use of technology and virtual resources, in order to keep client fees low and enable them to stick with us for the long run!
